BUSY BLESSINGS

Hi Fans!

My heartfelt apologies for not blogging anything as of late. I've been bogged down by several "Busy Blessings." To give you a quick update of 2010: Aside of finishing a unit secretary program, I have also started & completed all of my prerequisite science classes necessary to apply to nursing. In the meantime I was still actively involved as a Clinical Care Extender volunteer at one of the local acute care hospitals.

It's amazing what God gives us when we ask for signs because He has blessed me with several of them to guide me through the process of yes, another career transition. So last year, it was all about classes & happy to report that although not all straight A's, I landed one A & all B's.

2011 is another story: It was all about getting a job in the hospital setting & using the Certified Nursing Assistant license that I received in 2009. Well in February, I feel blessed to state that I have two places of employment as a nursing assistant at an acute care facility & just the last 3 months alone, I have learned & seen a lot of patients, nurses & doctors (both good & bad qualities) & the healthcare team.

In addition, last month I was notified I was admitted a spot in the nursing program at Rio Hondo Community College in Whittier, which will begin early June.

How grande is God? I feel that all of this was because of Him. All of the volunteering in the past, whether at the sexual assault hotline, finding homeless youths, advocate for health funding or helping facilitate immunizations at the county level & not to mention the one event that really shaped my Life- the AidsLifeCycle event in 2004 has all had it's purpose. I am in awe... Life is so amazing to have all these Busy Blessings....

To top it off... I recently had PRK [Photorefractive keratectomy] surgery (not exactly Lasik but similiar) & although not completely 20/20, from my -7.5 is a life-changing significant experience! Not many realize how bad -7.5 vision is- well trust me, IT IS! Since I can remember, my eyes were poor. I started wearing eyeglasses in the 6th grade but I feel that I actually needed it much sooner.

Last but not least... I am a PROUD AUNTIE! My dear nephew Jacob born May 7. Praise the Lord!

I will try to send out another update soon. For now, Thank You everyone for your support.

Peace to you & your family,
Michelle
